TW:eed Project

This ambitious collaborative project brings together experts from a wide variety of fields to study many different aspects of this critical period in the evolution of life on earth. We hope to learn a great deal about

• the causes of the mass extinction that took place at the end of the Devonian
• which groups of animals and plants survived into the Carboniferous
• what the environments were like a the time and how they changed through the time period in which we’re interested
• how the plants and animals that survived then evolved into the forms we see at the end of the Tournaisian.
